Do I need experience to start?
No experience is needed. Beginners are welcome, and classes are designed to help new students learn safely at their own pace.
What should I wear for my first class?
Wear comfortable athletic clothing. For gi classes, a gi is recommended. Contact the gym before your first class if you are unsure what to bring.
Do I need a gi?
A gi is recommended for gi classes. Loaner gis may be available depending on size availability. Contact us before your first visit.
Can my child try a class?
Yes. Kids are welcome to try an age-appropriate class. Contact the gym or book a free trial to confirm the best class for your child.
What age can kids start?
Sprouts classes are for ages 3–5. Keiki classes are for older kids. Confirm the best fit with the gym before attending.
Is jiu jitsu safe?
Classes emphasize control, respect, and safe training habits. As with any physical activity there is some risk, but beginners are guided carefully by experienced instructors.
Can visitors drop in?
Visitors may be able to drop in depending on schedule and gym policy. Contact the gym before visiting.
How much are memberships?
Membership details may vary. Contact the gym directly for current pricing and options.
What is Open Mat?
Open Mat is open training time for drilling, positional work, and rolling. It is a great opportunity to reinforce techniques from class and train with a variety of partners.
